The complex creation of a new appliance takes place using a state-of-the-art Computer Aided Design (CAD) package which allows components to be modelled in 3D and 'assembled' together on screen to create a finished product. Checking for fit and function on a computer vastly decreases the time taken for an appliance to move from conception to marketplace, saving valuable hours in tool making and sampling new components.

When a new appliance moves from the computer screen into reality, the Research and Development laboratory is equipped with sophisticated analysis equipment, which monitors everything from combustion gas levels to surface temperature.
